“Impossibilities Are Targets for Miracles” is a quotation by Cassandra Lee, the co-director of Justice Rising and is also the title of a new book by Wordwind Press. It is a compilation of stories by Cassandra Lee and 18 other Saskatchewan authors: Caroline Bykowy, Sakina Bikuta, Boyd Hopkins, Carol Ann Kopperud, Jodi Kozan, Adela Lenz, Deborah McConkey, Michelle McGaffin, Sally Meadows, Euphrasie Nyiranzoza, Jakob Palm, Bielle Retsof, Corinne Shantz, Michelle Shaw, Brian Smith, Becky Thomas, Maylane Wong and Alison Uitti. Justice Rising is a ministry in the Congo (DRC) and Kenya that rescues children from child soldiering and child brothels and offers schools and support in the most wartorn areas. All of the money from the sale of the books goes to Justice Rising ($20 per book). At this event, Sakina Bikuta will be sharing a miracle story that she wrote for the book about her life in the Congo.
There will also be a second Book Launch and Author Reading on Sunday, October 2nd from 3-4pm at Horizon College, 1303 Jackson Ave. Saskatoon, Sk. This is a free public event and does not require tickets.
At both of these events, Wendy Basnett will be sharing about her daughter Cassandra’s ministry in the Congo and Kenya. Books will be available for sale at both events. Please come and join us.
