Fraud Prevention & Safety Tips for Seniors

March 14 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

St. Paul’s Co-Cathedral is pleased to offer the following one-hour seminar on Fraud Prevention and Safety Tips for Seniors on Saturday, March 14th at 2:00 pm.

From presenter and Member of Parliament, Kelly MaCauley…

“Fraud Seminar

Seniors fraud is one of the fastest growing commercial crimes in Canada.

In last parliament I tabled Motion 176

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) recognize the disproportionate effect of fraud activities against the seniors community across Canada; (b) coordinate a national response to fraud activities to ensure that seniors and other vulnerable groups have the resources they need to understand the signs of fraud; (c) establish tangible recourses for victims of fraud; and (d) work with local law enforcement agencies and the Canada Revenue Agency to introduce legislation to combat fraudulent attacks targeting vulnerable seniors.

This was adopted as motion 203 by Alice Wong and passed unanimously in the House.

I teach a one hour seminar on how to protect seniors and your loved ones from fraud attempts such as identity theft, romance fraud, and identity fraud.”
